It depends on their value. Selling online at ebay is probably your best bet, but keep in mind that ebay, Paypal and shipping fees will amount to 13 to 15 percent of the sold price. Otherwise, coin shows / stores can be a viable alternative. It really depends on what you have. If you'd like, post pictures and descriptions of the coins here and we can help a little more with which route to take.

That depends very much on what you have to sell. Can you post pictures or at least a list and description?

I have an assorted set of nickels on CoinQuest right now...perhaps that's a good place to begin.

For most items (not coins) that I sell on ebay, about half of the sold price is paid in fees and shipping. If the item is small and worth over $40-50, then it's about 20% in fees and shipping (done Priority with insurance). Basically, it all depends on the value and size of the item. Coins are small, so value is what matters most here.

First, just go to your LCS and get an honest opinion.

don't be too hasty to sell to a LCS, there is always some place that will try and lowball you. (I learned the hard way, got $45 for a $200+ coin) Not saying all LCS's are the same by any means, but maybe try a few places to see different offers for your coins. Pawnshops, depending on what you have, can be terrible or okay when it comes to selling. I was in need of some gas money and had a loose '09 silver eagle which I took across the street to a pawnshop. Paid me $20 bucks which was more than I expected from them (really depends on the coin). I would either post some pictures here or do some research online. One of the big reasons I became interested in coins is from being ripped off.

You can do a search on ebay for similar items already sold. And this is the more active time of the year for the hobby, so your timing is right.

Quote: get some otters Not sure why your would want some OTTERS. Sure are difficult to raise, feed and then train. If you want to sell coins though, just find a local coin shop. You'll get the lowest price possible but you can get rid of them fast.

A local shop must work within the framework of the available market. If there is not an active market for Memorial cent varities then he will not be looking to pay premiums over face for them.
