Not in too rough of a shape for a 124 year old coin. Nice die clash obverse and reverse with reverse die cracks. I'm at F-102, anyone care to confirm or correct this attribution? How do you think NGC graded her? As always, thank you for reading and contributing. -AB Member ANA - EAC - TNA - SSDC - CCT #890 "Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done." -- Louis D. MS64, it's a beauty. Amazing how it can be that white.

Don't know the attribution but do know a great strike when I see one. MS65 or 64+ anyways.

Your coin appears to be an F-120. Note the date position.
Your coin is DR -1B0 A-1/F-102 is DR 0B1
Your reverse die cracks match up well to Revere T and my guess is you have a die stage of Obverse 20/Reverse T.
My grade guess is MS64 as well, its tough to see full luster in the closeup. Not too much chatter on the obverse relief either.
Great coin.

For a -1B0 DR they list 107, 120, and 125. However, of these, only 125 has die clash, and only reverse. 107 is definitely out (no MPD and no date slope), 125 is out (not a high date.)
It does not look like the 120 Fortin is using as the plate coin; the reverse looks correct (T) but no clash, and there is definitely no clash on the obverse on the plate coin, nor any mention of it.
Only thing else reasonably close is F-109 but the reverse is wrong and the DR is wrong, and there is no prominent doubling in ERICA.
Is it possible this is a clashed variety of F-120 that has not been previously attributed?

Whatever the grade may be, it looks like it was struck yesterday. Ms65,a nice coin for the collection.

Almost certainly dipped once, and successfully. We've all done it. I'll stick with 64 ( ), but standing by.

Will post grade and slab when I get home tonight. I talked to the seller for awhile, and he is glad that the coin is going to a "good home." (He's very trusting, isn't he? Hah!) It is not attributed on the holder -- I wonder why not spend the extra $15 for the Variety Plus on a coin of this quality. It's not really in my budget to purchase anything else as nice this month, unfortunately, a shame since there are some other coins from the same private collection that are equally beautiful or even more so. I'll probably add it to my small list of coins that need to get CAC approval at the ANA show next year. BTW, I've never dipped a coin. However, my pre-teen self is guilty of using Wright's Copper Polish on a substantial number of Wheat cents including most of the early teens S and D mint coins, several Indian Head cents, and an 1848 Braided Hair Large Cent. Also used Wright's Silver Cream on a few circulated Morgans and Walkers that my dad owned. Still beating myself up over those 20+ years later. That's way worse than a dip. They look like someone rubbed them with sandpaper and the copper and silver both retoned to hideous shades of ugly that scream "cleaned coin." I keep them anyway for sentimental value, just like I do with all of the coins that dad picked up in change for me through the years. (You know your parents are awesome when your 18th birthday gift from dad is a roll of Circulated Morgan & Peace dollars and your mom gives you a roll of circulated Mercury dimes!!)
