the edges look straight and it looks like there is some stiffness still in the paper.

Hold it up to a light bulb and see if there are any pinholes, those are definitely important.

The horizontal and vertical folds are dissapointing but not deal breakers, still a beauty.

Great note! I'd grade it VF20 maybe VF25.

This is a wish list type note for me as well. This one faces up nicer than the back. Nice paper!

Agree, the reverse holds it back, but I could see VF-20.

Interesting side note -- the chief depicted on this SC is Running Antelope, leader of the Hunkpapa tribe. As it happens, I bought a postcard with his portrait just yesterday. He died in 1896, a few years before the $5 note was issued. Here's a less flattering likeness of him without his war bonnet.

That's a cool piece of art you have there GA. I'll do a little research on him. thanks for posting everyone. I picked the Red Book for US Currency because there are a few more notes. Anyway, the VF-20 description seems to fit the SC. i'll post a few more interesting notes soon
