So how do we channel all the "change the portrait on the $10 note" energy to the "get rid of the cent and nickel" and "get rid of the dollar bill" energy?

Give them what they want if you want to get change. Problem, reaction, solution. I'm sure there is some other politically correct figure out there worth honoring on our coins and currency.

I'm not so sure about that in this context. I have the feeling that Lincoln, Jackson, Grant and Franklin will be the next targets before anything meaningful is accomplished with regard to the cent, nickel, and dollar note. I don't mind taking one for the team every once in a while but I'm not going to repeatedly lean into the heater.

Man or woman, the problem is that the mugs of many admirable people just don't lend themselves well to being pictured on our coins or currency (Ike, Martha, Susan B. to name a few). No sex appeal, no pizzaz. Why not go back to other kinds of symbols? Personally, I'd like to replace Franklin with Mt. Rushmore. Really.

Really. Replace one guy with four. I actually like the idea. Quote: Oh and PS, jbuck, we all like it when you get a bit snarky. If only my wife would agree.

My take about the Government issuing two different bills is easy... Both the Susan B. Anthony and Sacagawea were never popular with the general public... So by issuing two type of bills, if there is a backlash then the recalling them won't put a huge shortage of tens out there so for once, the Government is actually doing something smart (for a change)...
I'm just curious how many bills will float around out there with (whatever) woman they do end up putting on there having a mustache drawn on her or whatever else is drawn on her... I don't know why I feel this is going to end up being a huge farce... But, I could be wrong... We'll see!

I am sure my opinion is of little consequence but here it is just as an outsider.
To me the issue of whether there is a woman on the notes is a non-issue. The notes feature presidents do they not? SO the reason there is no women is because there have been no female presidents! This is an issue more than them not featuring on the money. Who do I think is responsible for there not having been a female president? Well I don't think that it is because all men are sexist or all women are repressed. I think that maybe more women should pursue politics, and while I think that no obstacles should be put in their way the process should still be a meritocracy.
Speaking as someone from the UK, who grew up with Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister when the right woman for the job arrives she should rise to the top. We however have a woman on every one of our notes (the Queen!) and still there are complaints that there aren't enough on the reverses (at present there aren't but these characters change regularly so within a few years we will have again)

Good points, David, and well-taken.
It should be pointed out that not all of our notes feature presidents. Even in the modern era, we have had non-presidents on our notes (Franklin, Hamilton, Chase), and in the large-note era we had all kinds of generals, financial leaders, and even Martha Washington herself.
Having said that, I would agree that there is understandably something of a shortage of prominent women candidates in our history, unfortunately.
