Looks like its clashed on both sides but the reverse damage your referring to looks to be PSD. Nice find.

Looks like some sort of foreign debris. Glue maybe etc. ? Stuck to the coin.

I thought zinc cents can't have lamination errors. No glue. There is a depression in the area of interest. I posted the following coin a while ago which is similar to this one. I can't figure these out.

Second one looks like a lamination.

Looks like it was struck through foil that peeled off another planchet. So I'm thinking a struck through error. (foil)

Very nice find! Excellent die clash. As for the other issue, I'm not sure what it is but I have to agree with Coop about it being struck though. The shape of it matches the radius of another cent so I wonder if it could be struck though something that was shaved from the edge of another coin.

Quote: Looks like it was struck through foil that peeled off another planchet As in a strip of the very thin plating?

The shape of it matches the radius of another cent Maybe I'm wrong but I thought Coop was commenting on the second coin. The second one looks like it was struck through something, I agree with that. On the first coin it looks like Lincoln's head upside down underneath the stairs..thats why I mentioned clashed both sides..

It may apply to both. It look the struck through may have fallen off. Not a lot of interest in these. Just nice to know what caused it though.
