Have you looked HERE for information ?

Your title says " red seal" note, but your image shows a "blue seal" note?

I have, the owner of the bill also exchanged a few emails with the website owner but he didn't manage to give him an accurate estimate...

Okay here's what I've discovered:

Heritage Auctions hasn't ever handled a $10 1902 Plain Back on this bank. Lyn Knight hasn't either.

Both have sold notes from Series 1882. The most recent (at least from what I can see) sale was from Heritage in January 2012. a $5 sold for ~$1100

Value according to the 6th edition of National Bank Notes $1,000 for a note in Fine. To my eye, yours would grade at least Fine.

If someone here has access to Track and Price they might be able to tell you if there is a more recent sales and up-to-date price.

My old Kelly book shows three notes known. There were around 3200 sheets in a 10-10-10-20 format printed, so that would make around 9600 $10 1902 notes printed. It is not "unknown" but I would consider it "rare" since Heritage or Lyn knight hasn't handled one.

It's one of those things that would bring good money at auction IF you had a few aggressive "Noo Yawk" collectors competing for it.

It has some staining in the upper right. Paper clip rust along with some water spotting is a guess. Yes, it does affect the grade, but not the value so much.

If you were to walk it in to a coin shop you'd be lucky to get a couple of hundred dollars for it. Best route for a note like this is auction it and get it in front of the right bidders. It could go for 1500-2000 $ in my opinion.

Good luck & welcome to the forums!
