That does not concern me so much. The dies were set up to strike bronze coins, not nickel coins. There are also other clues, look at the beads on the obverse side where there is no contact with the collar die, they are more oval than round. You see the same phenomena on clipped nickel composition coins. Look at the Cartier dollar in this thread, as an example.
