Any ideas as to why these rolls of cents are selling for so much? there doesn't seem to be anything special to me that would indicate why they are going for near a dollar a piece. They don't even say unsearched.

The allure of being unsearched and finding a valuable coin for cheap. Why do people spend so much money in a casino?

Well the tape looks yellow and oxidized like it was put on some time ago. I bet that visual was tempting

IHC tend to sell for about a buck apiece as common dates. Here we have what seems like an old roll with yellowed tape, which offers potential.

$47.00 isn't too big of a risk for that auction. The obvious home wrapped VDB cent rolls with a quarter eagle sell for several hundred, now those are crazy prices.

Well, unless there is an IHC on one end, and a Wheatie on the other, the seller is making a bold claim.

with edweather. How does he know that all these rolls have IHC and LWC if there is a wheat on both ends? He could have applied old tape to the roll.

My uncle once bought quite a few 'unsearched' half dollar rolls on eBay- each roll had a Walker or Seated on each end, a few cheap proofs and junk in the middle. He ended up losing money on each roll, then on the last one, the Seated ender turned out to be a CC and he broke even.

It's the gamble, are you willing to risk $50.00 or not? I personally would.

This is a sealed roll that comes from a coin collection from an unclaimed locker in Grand Central Station in New York City that I finally got rights to.

Sounds kind of strange given seller lives in Florida.
