I would very much appreciate any help I can get in selling some USA coins.

I have posted this in two places as I am not sure where to put this. I apologize if I put this post in the wrong place.

I am a total novice trying to sell some silver coins in Mexico City. I have heard of Duane from this forum, and will contact him but am not sure he purchases these type of coins. Anyone else I should contact? Any other sales methods which you might suggest?

Does anyone know of anyone else or Mexico City coin vendors who may want to buy some or all of these?

Is it common to get a reasonable price when a person sells to a coin shop or is it likely I will get significantly less for them vs ebay.

I have about 95 silver Lincoln dimes, 20 Qtrs, and a 1972 Raised Hair ( I believe) Kennedy half dollar.

I am aware of the coin market on ebay but I am a bit concerned about the hassle of selling there when I am here and coins would need to be shipped to the USA where a friend would have to mail them out-

If I can sell them here or privately that would be ideal..

How do you send individual coins like this safely, by the way?

However, I cannot afford to take a large loss on selling these as I am selling to pay medical bills.

I am using the ebay prices shown on (124) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed as a base line for valuing each coin. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance, your help is greatly appreciated.

to the Community!

I need to remind everyone about our Buy / Sell / Trade Rules.

Giving advice... good.

Offering to buy... bad.

Carry on.

You need to first determine exactly what you have.

There are no "Lincoln" dimes ...silver Roosevelt dimes exist (1946-1964), but not Lincoln dimes.

Sounds like you have about 15$ in face value of 90% silver. Call around to local coin shops in Mexico and in the US and see what they are paying for 90% silver and you'll have an idea of what your stuff is worth.

Selling on ebay using PayPal eats up about 13% of the sale. Figure in postage and it adds up quick.

After you do this run the numbers and decide what avenue of disposition will work best for you.

Good luck!

Does Duane's business buy coins or only more rare coins than what I have available ? I can't find any other coin broker business in Mexico City. I would like to sell these without the hassle of ebay.. I really dislike PayPal but I may have to go that route or find a coin shop in the USA and have a friend sell them..
