Hello, Just looking for opinions on grade of this coin:   Also, I'm now aware of the fact that there are many varieties of this type of coin, so if anyone can help me out with that as well I would appreciate it very much. Thank you

I'll look up the variety when I get home but it might be a Newcomb 10. It's a large date, head of 1840. Appears to have a RPD/recut on the 4 in the date from your pictures. Old cleaning by the color. Good surfaces save a nick left of the eye on the obverse. Reverse is somewhat scudzy, but mostly damage free, minor nicks/rim bumps and a touch of verdigris due north.
My grade low VF details net F.

f-15 to vf20 little acetone followed by verdicare might help reverse.
