good afternoon everyone
I was going through my tokens and it seems I have an oddball
this token when turned over has an American type reverse.
all my other ones have the Canadian strike
when tuned over left or right it is upside down.
the others are right side up.
any Ideas on how rare it is and what might the value be.
I've looked all over on line and can't find anything.
any help would be appreciated

all Canadian coinage (including provincials) were coin oriented pre 1900, newer coins are medal oriented here is a good reference site for our coins:

These Rutherford tokens were struck in both medal and coin alignment. Both alignments are common, neither attracts a premium.

yours is NF-1C3 (coarse wool, stars, medal alignment)
there is also NF-1C4 , same as above but in coin alignment.

similar issue for the year are NF-1C1 (fine wool, rosettes, medal alignment), and NF-1C2 (coarse wool, rosettes, medal alignment).

NF-1C3 & 1C4 (with the stars) can carry a small premium for variety collectors (but there aren't many of those)

the non dated and 1841 issues are rarer than this, but this is still a desirable token. $80-$100 imho

Hey Wade, what book are you using to catalogue your tokens?
I have a couple Rutherford tokens and I know the different types of wool etc but not the fancy numbers you have there. I have been meaning to pick up the Charleton token book, is that what you are using?
