Quote: To score and reunite a CIRCULATED consecutive pair of 1929 FRBN STAR notes is a rare feat! good point, westernsky. One can only guess the paths those two notes took to be reunited. Really cool.

Quote: jimbucks - Give us the backstory on these two notes please! About 15 years ago or so, in the early days of ebay, I was searching for 1929 star notes. Each of these was raw and listed separately, and by separate sellers. Both had reasonable buy-it-now prices, so I got them. They now both reside in PMG VF-12 holders.

Amazing story! (Aaaaahhhhh.... I miss the good old days of ebay when things would just seemingly turn up out of nowhere). The only other circulated consecutive serial numbered 1929 Nationals I've ever seen was a pair of $5's on a small bank in Utah and that was probably at least 15 years ago. They were in very strong hands then and I'm sure they still are today. Great story and thanks for sharing!

Nothing too special here, but from a run of 640k. The scan doesn't show it, but it's fairly creased. Decent shape otherwise. I actually received this note in change almost 4 years ago, but I had forgotten about it and it's a re-discovery for me.

From the early days of ebay. A fuzzy picture, but it looked like a star, and a buy-it-now of $35. SCORE! I just looked it up in the latest Friedberg, and it lists a VF-20 at $2,500. WOW!
