Hi all... new to this forum but have been around the US Moderns/Currency/NIFC sections for quite a while. I recently acquired a large number of gorgeous world notes. New, oldish (back to the '50s), paper/cloth, polymer. Most have almost no value in comparison to Euros, USD, etc. but they are absolutely gorgeous, all of them. About 200 notes in all, and as you can probably imagine, they're in all different sizes. They're crisp UNC for the most part and I'd like to keep them that way as well as display/view them every once in a while.
Looking for suggestions on how to store and display notes of varying sizes like this. First thing that comes to mind is a binder but at 3 notes/page or so that could get really expensive and take up a ton of room.
Too many to pick from but my favorites have to be the Suriname notes. It's also a lot of fun seeing many denominations from the same country together.
What's sad to me is doing a Google search on value against the USD and seeing 0.0005 or (far) worse for many of these, especially considering the artwork on these things.
Oh well... I'm hooked. I absolutely love world currency now.

I found myself in a similar situation about two years ago when I bought a lot of world currency.
I went the binder route and enjoy seeing all the notes easily. Pages can be bought in bulk for a discount. I keep my binders in a milk crate for storage / transportation.
The only other method I'd suggest is using a currency box with each note in an individual holder. This can get disorganized fast though.

Just some ideas, since it seems you already sorted by country of origin: 1. measure the largest of your notes 2. search for currency holders, ebay or Amazon especially for CCF members selling, sizes vary greatly so you can figure out how many of each you'll need. 3. there are pages that will hold TWO notes if some of yours are rather LARGE You mentioned being sad about value of USD to some of the currency; don't let that bother you--you're a collector and not a re-seller of these notes. Of course you'll not want to overpay but you are collecting and not investing. Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey.

Thanks for the suggestions, techwriter and Atlas. I'm at the point now where I need to get some storage solution in place otherwise it's going to degenerate into chaos.
Initially I'm leaning towards binders for the notes I want to display and/or look at frequently. Any suggestions on brand? Dansco has a nice currency album but we're only talking 2 or 3 notes/page so I'd need 2 albums alone for the 90 or so Zimbabwe notes I want to display.
Great thoughts on the collection vs. value, techwriter. As you said, it's for the joy of collecting, not the investment.

Storage solution? There are MoneybinsRus as founded by Scrooge McDuck. As designed the bins are cantilever supported structures specifically designed not to put the stress of the coin mass onto the coins themselves. Right now with the BOGO sale I would order two large bins and plan for the future. Spring for the extra humidity and acid control package, you'll be glad you did.

I went for a Lighthouse Vario-G Binder with slip case, and pages with 3 pockets. I use similar Lighthouse binders (with two-pocket pages) for my First Day Coin Covers, but FDCCs are very thick relative to single bank notes so I expect that one will fit many pages suit my needs for my existing collection.
I also picked up a currency box and top loaders for miscellaneous loose currency.
Looking forward to getting some organization around here!

I also use Lighthouse binders with Lighthouse 3-pocket pages and archival-grade SuperSafe currency sleeves. Same thing, in short... :)

@MoonRock - Excellent! I take it they are working out to your satisfaction? How many pages can you fit in one? I have to imagine (or hope) at least 50.

CelticKnot, don't know :) My collection is quite small, only 15 pages so far.

I see. Well, I say you test the limits of your album. When you find that limit, let me know what it is and.... buy another! That's my plan, anyway. hehehe My album is supposed to be here in the next couple of days but the pages won't arrive for at least another week. My report will have to wait...

Will take me some time, since I really go after a specific region and it does not have much in terms of banknotes printed, but I am inclined to go back as much as I can to get at least one album filled :)

Good Day
My first post here and I have a question with regards to currency storage. I have been collecting for a few years now and recently changed to Priz Profil binders and pages, it's a very stiff page which I liked as I think it protects the note more, but I have read online that it may not be a good choice for notes. Any opinion on this?
Cheers

ZABanknote! I don't use Priz Profil binders and pages so can't comment. Never even heard of them and can't find them on Wizard (or elsewhere with a quick Google search). I did just get some lighthouse pages in and they're relatively stiff. I like them so far and they are safe/designed for currency.

[Pic Heavy]Ok, so most of my supplies finally came in. I received the Lighthouse Binder and 50 3-pocket pages, which I think are going to work out wonderfully. The binder is well-made and can probably hold 100 pages. I have 25 more on order but will probably need to order yet another pack of 25 here to fit everything I have at the moment. After that it's time for another album. I put my Zimbabwe collection in already but here's a pic of the remainder of my world notes that need to go in: And a couple of pics (sorry for the bad lighting and reflections) of how the album looks with notes inside. I'm pleased with the outcome. The little slips of paper are to help me remember which notes are from which countries for the languages I can't read and for pick number and such. I intend to replace those with some nice printed inserts at some point in the very near future. Baby steps. Here are some pictures of the album itself. It also comes with a slip case, not pictured. Overall I'm very pleased with this. I will post more pics when I get my labeling system down. Cheers!

I have very similar, if not the same, pages as yours. How do you keep the bills from falling or moving when you tilt the album?

Quote: How do you keep the bills from falling or moving when you tilt the album? Friction. The notes will not budge in the pockets of these Vario pages without some help. I actually wanted to use cheap 2 mil sleeves as added protection for the notes then insert them into the pockets but it was just too hard to get them in the pages. Plus 2 mil over 100 pages adds up.
