How long does it take for the mint to issue a refund after they receive your return?

This is a question that would be better to ask the mint. They would be able to tell you if or when they received your return and approximately how long before you can see the credit. My horror story with them is when I returned my 2015 silver proof set for an exchange (which at the time I was told they would exchange it) I never got a replacement and it took 3 months before I got my money back. I actually made a claim against them through the BBB which went no where as I expected since they are not accredited but I felt that was the only thing I could do and it may have been the reason why they finally gave me a refund.

My recommendation to you is make sure you write down who you talked to and when you called for your reference. They do keep track of when you call but they don't always make the best notes of what the conversation is about.

Just chatted with a mint representative and they said my return is still processing. They also said it could take up to 2 weeks for a refund. Checked order tracking and they received my return on Sept. 25th.

Might have been faster to resell it after the sellout that has not occurred yet.

Well, I have run into a problem. Not sure what to do. I got an e-mail that says "We have received your return order and a credit is being processed. Please allow 4-5 business days for the credit to appear on your card." However, the e-mail only says I am being credited for ONE set for $57.95. Then I logged into my account at the mint and it says "Part Return". What the heck is going on? I returned TWO sets and I am only being refunded for ONE!?

In the chat on the mints site, it's strange...the rep says " I see the issue with this order. I would have to verify this problem with my supervisor before I take further action."

After a LONG pause, this was said: "The other half of your refund will be sent to within 3-5 business days. Anything else I can do for you today?"

I then asked what the issue was. "The refund was being stagnated during it's processing."

I hope it all gets straightened out. I wonder if they are being inundated with returns.

I was thinking along those lines. But it just baffles me why the entire order wasn't refunded at the same time. I sent both sets in the same package from the same order but only get refunded on one of them.

Worker opens box, pulls first set, starts paper work, shift ends. Next person comes in to do the other set.

I had a similar problem, TheForce. A quick phone call to the Mint solved the problem. It was VERY late at night also, I don't recall what time, but I was surprised there was still someone there answering phones, AND answering questions!

I'm not sure what the heck is going on. I have been corresponding to mint representatives via their online chat. It's been getting me nowhere fast. I've stepped it up and sent an e-mail via the mints contact form explaining the situation. I will only call as a last resort. But I am telling ya, $57.95 is a lot of money to let go...

Do not give up.

I agree with calling as a last resort. I really, really hate talking on the phone.

In the past I've had some not so nice calls to customer service reps for various places. Some of them are real jerks.

Was in the customer chat again this am....

[Visitor] I am inquiring about the return status on order USM035xxxxx. Only half of the order has been refunded (10-3-15) and I would like to know when I will be refunded for the other half? My apologies for keep having to contact customer service but $57.95 is too much to ignore. I feel like I'm not getting results. I am very frustrated.

[Lester] I'm sorry you had that issue with a refund . I will be happy to help you with that!
[Lester] For security purposes, could you please verify your full name, billing address, shipping address, email and telephone number?

[Lester] Thank you for providing that information.

[Lester] One moment please while I find that information for you.

[Visitor] ok

[Lester] I appreciate your patience!

[Lester] Please allow me one moment while I research this issue.

[Visitor] ok

[Lester] I'm still researching your information. I apologize for the inconvenience.

[Visitor] its no problem

[Lester] I appreciate your patience! I will be sending this information to upper management to have it rectified.

[Visitor] Thanks, what seems to be the problem? Just curious.

[Lester] I'm not sure that's why upper management will Have to clear issue up.

[Visitor] Well ok then, but I am not happy with these delays. Why haven't the previous people I dealt with on here done this?

[Lester] I wish I could provide the reason why it was not taken care, but I'm glad we are able to get the matter cleared up at this time.

[Lester] Anything else I can do for you today?

[Visitor] Thank you for your help. Just one other thing, how long does upper management take to deal with these things

[Lester] Please allow 1-2 business days to process. You can then expect to see a refund back in the form of your original payment within 3-5 business days after the resolution.

[Visitor] ok, thank you

[Lester] Thanks for shopping with the United States Mint. We're happy to assist you today and in the future.
