I've been meaning to ask this for a while. I've done it on a couple black coins, and the results were nice.

Interesting. I think his spoon and hands did more damage than the process.

Yea I did try this on my coins, @slurexe97
It works quite well.
However, it also exposed cleaning on a 1921 morgan I had that was so badly toned over its old cleaning.

I know that some of my methods are horrifying to others, but the spoon clanking and finger rubbing is something I wouldn't do. Still, I have some older bars that I might try this on. Thanks for sharing.
