Yep, we shall see. It kinda bothers me though... what could possibly be wrong with the ability to get a refund? And why does upper management have to deal with this? In the future I may decide not to do business with the mint.

My guess is that someone messed up. They are not allowed to admit they messed up, nor are they allowed to fix the error without notifying management. It probably means someone is going to get written-up or lose their position.

Tick tock, tick tock...still NOTHING. After this fiasco I don't think I am going to be ordering from the mint anymore. They have lost a customer. So I sent the coins back on September 23rd. I was refunded for one set on October 3rd. Still waiting for a refund on the second set returned as it is now October 14th. And everybody I've contacted doesn't seem to know what happened.
From today's chat with the mint CS rep:
"I see that an escalation of this matter has occurred. I will notate your account to insure that this issue is followed through and completed."

That is crazy. This could be almost as bad as the fiasco Earle42 had with his missing 25th Anniversary ASE order. I never had a problem like this with the mint, but I have never had to return anything.

What I am going through I wouldn't wish that on anybody. You would think being a government agency they'd be held to higher standards. This was actually my first return ever from the mint. I am just tired of fighting, shouldn't have to. $60 is a lot to just let go.

I hope things have gotten better since your last post. After my fiasco with the mint I am not surprised to see them still having problems. I too will think long and hard before I buy from them again and If I do I sure hope I don't have to return anything. Don't give up on getting your money back. I don't care if it is $60 or $6 they need to honer the return. Best of luck!

Thanks, I have not received a refund as of yet. I have been checking my e-mail and my online bank statements. Nothing...

Yikes. I'd be on the phone demanding to speak with supervisors and "upper management." all this writing back and fourth can get you nowhere fast. Talk to someone and demand to speak to their boss, then his boss and if necessary his boss and don't get off the phone until it's resolved.

It was escalated to someone. Tell them that is with whom you wish to speak.

Have you considered filing a claim with your bank issuer? Not sure what they will do, but it cannot hurt to ask.

That is an interesting idea jbuck....you mean like a charge back? I'm not sure how that would work with a refund issue but I will keep that in mind.

Call and tell them what is going on. I once had a issue with a credit that never appeared on my statement. My card issuer worked with the vendor directly to resolve the situation.
