Hey guys

Do you guys think this coin would grade problem free ?
What appears to be a scratch on the obverse is actually a hair or something on the 2x2 ..
So what do you guys think ?

I'll jump in first and throw a dart at problem free, yes. Just looks original to me, but I could be wrong.

Answer to your question; yes it looks problem free.
Is the black stuff crud or a stain. if It's crud you might want to use acetone on it. will not harm the coin.

Acetone will not harm it but it may reduce the overall eye appeal if the gunk has been on there a long time and the rest of the coin has aged. You could end up with some real bright spots.

Under that black might be some surface problems. I would try acetone to see if it can be removed. If these is no surface pitting you'll have a nice AU-55.

So would you guys try and remove the black gunk with acetone or just leave it be ?
If I was to leave it alone would that affect it as far as getting it in to a problem free holder ?
Thanks again guys ..

I'm not sure what that black line is, but looks like it's on both sides of the coin in the same place. 11 o'clock to 4 o'clock, and 1 o'clock to 8 o'clock. Maybe a planchet/alloy issue. I like the coin and wouldn't use acetone on it, just leave as is.

Well guys I just purchased the coin , the seller told me the line across the obverse that I thought was a scratch or die crack was actually a hair or something on the 2x2 flip ..
I thought the coin looked atleast AU 53 maybe even 55 .. I was concerned with whether it would slab as I'm trying to round up a few more coins to make the dead line for anacs fall special ...
They are offering 10 coin minimum at 119 with free return ship and insurance so that's like 12 bucks a coin ...
This will give me the opportunity to send in some coins that normally wouldn't be worth the grading fee .. So now I'm up to 8 coins and have till the 31st to come up with the other two and ship these baby's out ..
I appericate everyone's help , I aways like to get second opinions on raw coins and I'm grateful you guys are here to help !
I will be bugging you guys with a couple more before long !!

I don't like it. The color just looks off like it had an old cleaning.

If anything, questionable color.

I been waiting on ya !! There's always one that will jump in hours after I purchase the coin and start listing problems and how there just has to be something wrong .. Lol that's the way it always goes ...
I think it's fine , about half a dozen others think it's ok so I went with that and purchased the coin ... The coin isn't even toned so questionable color ? Really doesn't make any sense ...
I don't think I own a coin that atleast one person on here wouldnt find something wrong with .. I appericate the input though , guess we will see what anacs thinks about it ...
Really though I don't mean no disrespect , it's just frustrating .. The time to chime in with that comment was hours ago while I was still deciding whether or not to purchase the coin ...
I appolijze if I've came off rude !! Ive just waited all evening on the nay Sayers and as always you don't hear from em till it's to Late ... Lol. Sorry guys and goodnight everyone !
