I bought my first key date coin since my buisness has been doing well lately and also had a bunch of gift cards. It arrived in the mail today and I wanted to make sure it was real and everything. It's a raw coin but is in a airtight slab so I didn't want to take it out yet to make returns easily if need be. I feel pretty confidant on the series but never bought a key coin that there would be much reason to counterfeit.

I won it on auction on ebay for a slightly lower then normal amount. Nothing crazy just $5-$10 less then the going ebay rate for the grade I think it is, mostly cause his auction ended at a odd time. The seller was one state over so no international issues. The thing I worried the most about is someone adding a mint mark or changing a 1933 to a 1938. Just want to do due diligence before I accept it. Is there anyway for me to check for those things? I have dealer friends who I will probally show it to also.

I ended up getting it for $43 and then had about $15 in gift cards, so $28 out of pocket. Couldn't pass it up for a key date hole filler. Most of my collection is good to fine anyways.
