My car blew up last week and I am forced to sell some coins. This one I am pretty sure is genuine based on the diagnostics I've researched, but it may have been cleaned since the color appears slightly orange. I'm thinking it is AU58 to MS61, but I always have trouble with sliders. Should I slab it and risk an Improperly Cleaned or sell it raw on ebay?

I'm not crazy about the color, but it could be your photography . to slab or not would be a tough choice if it was mine.

I would think a slabbed coin would sell quicker and more than a raw, even a details coin.
If I were buying a S-VDB I would want piece of mind knowing it was at least genuine.

The color is close to the actual color, which is why I think it was cleaned. I used the CCF optimizer which is pretty awesome.

Yes, get it into an Anacs slab if your not a pcgs or ngc or ANA member. Odds are very good on a high enougg return to justify the wait if you need the money unless you need it so bad you can't wait and don't mind making less Can you get good clear pics straight on and a close up of the mm area?

I suggest getting it slabbed. ANACS would be my choice. You will recoup the fees when you sell it, and you (and your buyers) will know it's genuine.

Slab it without a doubt. You'll net more.

There's been too many of these coins faked and selling on the bay recently... If you want to sell and get serious money you're going to have to prove it's legit.

There are too many fake 1909 s vdb, and 1914 d lincolns on ebay to be certain when you bid. At least if it is labeled as authentic, and in a slab buyers will have more confidence in bidding. It will take a little longer to get cash in hand but if you have a few weeks that is the only way to go.

"Car...just blew up?"
65 mph on freeway, odd rumbly sound, Service Engine Soon light pops on, smoke and steam come from under hood, engine slowly loses all power and the car becomes cold steel on the side of the road. Blown head gasket. With 217,000 miles not worth fixing. It's not like it was unexpected.
I will post pics of the MM today. Thanks for all advice. Anyone want to offer an IMHO grade?

In this case I think it should be slabbed, if you intend to sell it into the U.S. market.

If you send it to ANACS toss an xtra $3 and have them shoot pictures. They aren't as good as PCGS but they will be better than what you've posted here(no offense intended).
