I just picked up what I attribute as a VAM 6 1926 Peace dollar (will post pics later). In VAMworlds pictures of this marriage they show one with Machine Doubling (which mine does have). My question is, do all VAM 6s show this doubling? Given the definition of what Machine Doubling is and how it occurs, I would think any doubling would be random and non uniform?

AK, you are absolutely right. Machine Doubling is sporadic and nearly random. Your coin is probably just a coincidence. Sharp eyes, congratulations.

Thanks Chute!! If MD is random, and not any type of die marker, why add the pic in the first place?

After taking pics, I'm leaning more toward a VAM-2. When I first looked at it, I didn't see any of the obverse markers, but after taking the pics, it appears to have the thread in the crown. See what you guys think.......

PS- I couldn't seem to get the MD to come out right, but it does show on the obverse, so maybe just another coincidence?

(edited to add question about MD)
