With platinum prices falling below the gold price it seems like a good time to pick up a little platinum. My usual supplier of all things numismatic did not have any, nor could they order any. However, Golden Eagle Coins (online) had some 1-ounce bars. They also had 50-gram "sheets" of 1-gram bars which I recall was of interest to another poster. Check 'em out if still interested!
I decided to get a single 1-ounce Valcambi Suisse bar which had a lower premium than the better-known Pamp Suisse.

I also decided to buy that Rhodium bar I've been wanting. Rhodium pricing is extremely volatile, approaching $10,000/oz just a few years ago. Right now it's a bit cheaper than platinum. Regardless of whether it was a wise choice, I have it now and have satisfied that craving.
