Notice that the original quote says erosion, not corrosion. There's a big difference

I seems I was much too harsh with my estimate. The coin is obviously not in basal state.

I was drooling on ebay last night because there were a set of PCGS PO-1 coins up: 1796 dollar, 1795 half dollar, 1796 quarter (i think those were the dates) and an 1803 gold coin also in PO-1. Way out of my price range, but still fun to imagine.
