This coin was hiding right under my nose. I've looked over boxes of large cents looking for varieties, and this one was in my large cent binder. I need help from the knowledgeable 1859 crew. Does this coin have doubling from being repunched or is the doubling from an over used die? I believe the 8 is a repunched verity, am I correct? Is this a common pair of dies? Please add any information or opinions. Grade? Thanks in advance.
Decided to look over the old coin binder to see if anything else was unusual, and this coin was 2 2x2s over. I believe it to be a C1 over C2 double die. The coin was marked as a triple N. The coins have been in this binder longer then the variations have been known, I would imagine.
