Here is one of ekiecoiners favorites. An 1859 DP 9 #3 that somehow quickly found it's way into the ground..and then found again too many years later.. It's one of my favorites also and very tough in any grade.(but maybe not this one) Look at the hair and see how good this might have been if someone had not dropped it...so very long ago..

I should specialize in coins that are quite scarce and have been ruined inadvertantly. You saw the 9/6 at the Expo. I'd never seen this one.

okiecoiner was showing a wonderful inv9/9 with a brutal wack into the loop of the 9. Anywhere else on that reverse would have been fine,..but no.. Someone had had to take a sharp pointed wack into the loop that raised the metal on both sides and almost completely obliterated the hoop in the loop. Basically ruined the toughest 59 of them all. All of the others markers were perfect..It really hurts when you lose a good one...

I just long for the day when I could be a fly on the wall as you guys do a sharing session. Scratch that.... I would rather be a sponge so I could soak up everything

You should come to a Coin Expo show in Toronto sometime, there can be anywhere from 4 to 8 large cent guys, showing coins, discussing die pairings, etc... (the show and tell usually continues at the pub afterwards too)... I sometimes throw a "bright and shiny" coin into the mix, which causes temporary blindness...

Love the new avatar... People really getting into the spirit that is awesome!
Someday I will have to make it work somehow....if only there was some sort of PD session that I could justify the trip and time off work.

My prediction ... the same year the Blue bombers finally make it into the playoffs in a 9 team league! (Shakes head... *Sigh*)
