Just picked this up, though I don't normally do NBNs.

Can anyone out there with Kelly and Track-and-Price give me some info here, please?

Thanks!

My Kelly census CD shows the bank has 34 large, 15 small; however only 3 were Series 1929 type 2's and your serial number wasn't listed. However in browsing the auction archives, I found Heritage has sold 4 unqiue type 2's since 2011.

I was able to find the note that was above your note (Serial # 2384) http://currency.ha.com/itm/national...ption-071515

Meadowview - I want to thank you so nuch for your effort here.

As you note, these are consecutively numbered, one graded 61PPQ and the other 66PPQ.

I cannot see any difference between them in photos, none whatsoever.

Again - thanks for helping me here. It still seems a mystery.

For any of you following this tiny thread, check Meadowview's link to the PCGS 61 and my PCGS 66 (next serial # up) and tell me why you trust PCGS.

Most likely there was a small group of consecutive serial numbered "Uncs" that surfaced and are now being slowly "fed" into the market to not drive the price down.

There have actually been packs of "unc" Nationals show up in the past. A few years ago a pack of 100 $5 1929 notes from Lake Village Arkansas showed up. It killed the market for that particular bank. (I have heard rumors that another pack exists from Lake Village, too.)

The four AU and better Highland notes in the known sold archives are serial numbers 2384, 2385, 2457 and 2458.

Time will tell if it's some pack hoard getting slowly dispersed. Whatever happens it is always a very nice type note!

In my aborted edit from earlier I am thinking that there might have been an uncut sheet that has since been cut apart for singles.

I also found the note that was below yours on the sheet(#2386) http://www.kyzivatcurrency.com/scan...&itmId=11268

The 61PPQ note appears to have a small issue on the top right corner. Not enough to bring it down to AU, but definitely enough to bring it down several grades.

Thanks to all of you for your help here.

WheatBack - I see what you mean about the corner, good eye. Amazing it still went for around $380 - sounds pretty high.

Meadowview - great input, know it took you some time, really appreciate it.

To both of you -

And to the rest - thanks for your comments. Obviously I know little about NBNs - I just buy nice ones when the price is right.
