Still a newby, but went to the bank and got $50 in pennies to sort thru---I hurt my back carrying them! I even put the sack in a diaper bag to make it easier and hide the fact I had a ton of coins in my possession. How do you guys do it with getting your nickels, quarters, etc in large amounts? Gussyboy1

The only ones I get are Halves. Normally 2 boxes at a time and boy is that heavy. The head cashier is always more then happy to get them for me but he's a small guy and it's kinda funny watching him carry them out of the vault to the counter.

The weight will vary depending on the number of zinc cents and copper cents in the box .
They are heavy no matter what though !

Depending on wear, $50 in pre-1982 pennies will weigh approximately 34 pounds and $50 in post-1982 will weigh around 27 pounds. Assuming you were carrying a normal circulated mix, the $50 probably weighed about 29-30 pounds.

Looks like my "little blonde vault teller" is the only smart one! She uses a cart to move the heavy boxes, and when she has one for me, I meet her at the door:-)). Dick

15.4 pounds must be only a $25 box.

I currently have better than 50,000 Lincoln Cents.
One of my containers is a milk can, and its very tough to lift off the floor.
