Gotta love those WWII era coins. I take a particular interest in those produced in areas occupied by Nazi Germany. The "A" at the bottom of the reverse side indicates an origin of Berlin. It may not be a reichsmark, but I got both the stamp and the 10 reichspfennig for what I'd say is a steal at $0.99 off ebay on a listing that escaped attention luckily for me. What do you guys think? Pretty good?

Oh. The shipping was free too. The seller had another Buy it Now option for $8.00. Seems that he was hoping that the bidding would go further than the starting price.

and here's the stamp. I know nothing about it; it's just a neat bonus I didn't give much attention too. If I'm right, it's value doesn't extend much further than that of an interesting piece of history.

That stamp's from Bohemia and Moravia, right? Definitely counts as "areas occupied by Nazi Germany".
They made coins too, though these are a bit less common than coins of Nazi Germany proper. I have a few, but they're in silly bad condition (zinc rot all over).

And these zinc Nazi coins are hardly ever that nice, obviously.

january1may the stamp seems to originate from bohemia and morovia just looking from the print at the bottom. And you're absolutely correct. Letters other than "A" as mintmarks are the ones you want to look out for. The letters A,B,D,E,F,G and J, all represent mintmarks from various mints in occupied nations such as Austria and Bavaria as well as mints in Nazi Germany such as those in Berlin and Hamburg. At any rate, the letters A and F are your common coins, while G and J are the ones you want to look for :]

Wheat, I highly recommend grabbing some. The more history behind a coin, the more I love it, and any WW2 era coin produced in an area of action has much history. Too bad wartime coins were made of zinc rather than silver, like the pre-war coinage. Stupid war shortages.

These zinc coins are usually VERY corroded and they usually look really ugly. Yours is quite the exception. Very nice!
