Doesn't matter if it's a rarity or sentimental value. Which coin that you own is the centerpiece of your collection ? Let's show it off and be proud.

This is my sentimental favorite. 1908 St. Gauden Double Eagle "No Motto" variety. NGC MS62. It's for my oldest daughter when she graduates from high school (another 15 years from now).

The dream coin I recently acquired was the 1856 Flying Eagle (Snow-9 Proof, ANACS EF40) Made me research and study the whole history of the coin. I sold a lower grade 1856 to get this one. It will probably stay with me for a long time.

My centerpieces would be my favorite cherrypicks, such as this 1887 DDO (S-1)

I think a lot of us have a problem choosing just one. Every coin I buy these days becomes a "centerpiece" of sorts.

I collect moderns and put them in albums, so I really don't have one, especially since I do not have the LHC keys yet.

Sentimental favourites would be the 1976D (T2) and 1977D Eisenhower dollars, since they were the ones my dad gave me almost thirty years ago that first sparked my interest in collecting.

Once I get a 20¢ for the 7070, I'll probably claim that as my centerpiece. If I am lucky enough to find a worthy specimen this year and this thread is still alive, I will add a picture then!

Hmmm...

I don't have a single finest/greatest/favorite coin, but this one is high on my list. Purchased in a Teletrade auction and graded NGC AU-58:

i would put these two 'side-by-side' as a dual centerpiece.
the liberty head as a reminder of the good ol' days when I only needed $400 for it, and the saint-gaudens because I just love the design.
