hi I just started to really start to set up my collection for display and to get at them better, getting them out of the Kraft #3 envelopes and the #10 white envelopes,(i still keep my x-ters in them) putting my display coins in Mylar flips and cardboard flip with mylar windows. the bills I have been putting them into the Acetate holders. has anyone had any with these product for the colored or painted coins, and the Acetate bill holders for the polymer bills?

I personally put collection coins in 2x2's and my paper/poly money in bill holders (like these: http://www.cdncoin.com/product-p/620054741.htm). I do have a lot of raw coins that came from mint rolls and put them in tubes. I used the tubed coins to sell as raw as I have already picked the few coins I want for my collection. Hope that helps

yes: your bill holders are the same as and the same place I got mine from, you have no trouble with the poly bill in them I guess I am looking to see if any one had some of the ink coming off and stinking to the holders, as for the 2x2 flips I am using 1.5 x 1.5 cardboard and the Saflip Double-Pocket Mylar Coin Flips. the 2006 hand painted cancer coin and the 2010 Vancouver Olympic coin was a concern to me. thanks again

I have both those coins in 2x2's with no problems. Also have no problems with the polymer bills in those holders.

I used to store ALL my coins in 2x2 holders, but recently started changing to different books, and have rolled my spares - some are in 35mm film containers.
Re; bills, much to my disappointment, I noticed recently that the foil denomination (from the bird series) will want to stick to the plastic bill holders... I didn't do noticable damage, but there was enough ghosting on the holder that my wife could see it.

hmm interesting, I don't have any of those to check. Is it possibly a humidity issue? I would like to here is anyone else has that problem.

that the holagram with the 20-50-100 and 1000, part your talking about right, I wonder if the security strip would do the same? from the 2004 20-50-100 issue and the 2006 5 dollar issue and 10 dollar from 2005 issue

I could be mistaken but I believe the process and application for the holigram is slightly different than the security strip.
Altogether though that still does sound more like a humidity issue.. I haven't had that with any of my birds notes yet.. but I just might have been lucky...
Try a few dessicant packs where you store your notes.... they're cheap at the dollar store and after a month or two just put 'em on a cookie sheet and in the oven for an hour and they're good as new.

I'm in southern Alberta, we don't know what humidity is.
Seriously.
Yes, the foil square on the 20-50-100 & 1000. Off hand I don't think I have a $100, and I have little interest in paying a premium for one - I mostly collected bills that I received from the bank...
Even if we had any discernible humidity level in the house, I need to look at getting a safe or something big enough to hold my collection...

I'm originally from Calgary... Boy do I miss the dry heat in the summer. 30c in Calgary is like 24c here lol (100% humidity at times).
