The last two images? Are they a normal and one you think is a DDO? They both looks the same to me. Possibly some very mild machine damage on them. (the flat shelf is not showing, but the devices look a bit pushed)

On the two LIBERTY pics one above the other, the only thing that jumps out at me is the TY in the top photo looks a bit shifted to the upper right. John1

The die chip and crack running along the top of the shield is a match. Depending in which photo of LIBERTY is yours, I would say an exact match as well. Does it have the die crack that runs through the hair to the left of the upper ear? If so, then I'd say you have it.

I see what you're getting at, I just don't know if it's the DD in question.

The bottom pic shows the DDO on top. I have both coins and I did not adjust the camera in any way, the top is thinker and look the the top "T" how the top shifts to the right. I see a die crack in the ear lobe, running NW.

The die chip and crack on the reverse at the top of the shield are identical to the images found on Wexler's website and coppercoins, the notching may be hard to see because my images lack clarity but I believe this coin is 001

With all that to back it up, sounds like you've got it! Did you say you've seen multiples in the roll?

Keep an open mind that the die crack on the shield can be found on many different dies that are normal. Just seems to be a weak area on the design. The die crack is in a slightly different direction. Wexler's listing show the die crack through the center of the rounded shield. Yours follows a different direction North of center. I don't see the notching on the "ERTY" that is necessary for this die. Without the hub doubling markers are pointless. The mark to the left side of the Zero in the date is missing. To me you coin is just a normal one without hub doubling. http://www.doubleddie.com/894355.html

I have an open mind and would normally just agree with your assessment but we are not looking at the same markers I guess because this marker is not the common breal we see on shield cents, it runs from the tip of the middle of the shield down to the bottom of the left side with two different but distinct die chips that are identical.

I stand corrected. I made an overlay of both images and they are a match for the chip and the crack: So the markers do match. Now if we could get some images of the hub doubling on LIBERTY, that would be nice.

Yes that looks much better now thank you! I ordered a different light to use with the stereo microscope and plan on investing in a microscope camera as well, we will see how that goes.
