FYI, You can request photos from J & M, but it might take a few days for them to get back to you.

The service at J&M main location depends on how serious of a coin collector you look.
The Metrotown service might be better, because they deal more with the general population that shops at a mall for food and clothing. The employee there is not at all knowledgeable though.
I like their grading. As ICCS overgrades more and more coins, J&M now sells raw coins of a given grade a bit more expensive than the same coin graded by ICCS, just because they're stricter in grading.
I mean, if you were to send your MS 65 coin from J&M to ICCS, it won't come back as MS 66. However, the eye appeal would generally be better. Objectively, in terms of scratches and wear, J&M would still be somewhat better.

Does anyone know if there is a store comparable to J&M in Calgary or Edmonton? Many thanks.

If you're looking for a quality store in Calgary, check out the Calgary Coin.

Robert kokotailo, the owner is very friendly, knowledgeable and willing to haggle prices. More so than a lot of the other dealers I see most of whom are just grumpy old men. Calgary Coin is my go to place for Ancients, Medieval and Canadian Coins. For US coins I prefer ebay, but with the conversion rate way up there, I haven't been making any purchases in USD lately.
