Only thing I have to offer is that the stamp reads "Suspected Note", not "Suspended". Which leads me to believe that someone thought it might be counterfeit. Just a guess.

In the U.S. the normal practice is for a suspected counterfeit to be placed in a plastic bag and sent to the Secret Service for further analysis. They don't stamp them, because the Secret Service likes to collect finger prints off them. The stamp might be from an Australian bank.

Just divided the serial number into the Block Run and come up with the correct Plate Number "E2"...
The only other way I know of to confirm the Intaglio (raised) Printing is to place the back of the note on your thumb, and lightly slide your index finger nail down the bottom half of Franklin's Portrait...

If done correctly, and the note is genuine, you will feel the raised lines...
Rest in Peace

It is entirely possible that it is a perfectly legit note that went through a counting machine that spit it out because it is so old. A bank employee probably stamps everything that the machine doesn't recognize.

Hi All, thanks for the information. Yes I realise now does have 'Suspended Note' also across the '100' RHS as well. I'm done feeling up Franklins raised lines! I think there is a rough difference in the texture to the unprinted sections of the note. But then again its quite worn from folding and could just be the folds. Regards ErikP.
