Hey guys, I got $300 out of the atm yesterday and these two were in them. Are either collectible in this condition?

First one is a keeper. Low serial, plus it's from a run of 384,000 -- which is very low. I would spend the second one.

I'm with WheatBack - I like the first one (good condition, it's a 2004A, and small print run) but I'd spend the 2nd one.

Unless you're putting together a star 20 set from circulation.
Rest in Peace

Thanks guys. That's what I was thinking. I don't collect paper but I do stash unusual bills. So you say 384k printed. So is that total run or the star run? Not sure how that works. Also, is there an acceptable method to "crisp" a bill up or make it look nicer. I'd think an iron is like silver dip to a morgan and would possibly make the bill wavy. A large book maybe but does that do any good?

384,000 is just the star note run for that certain district. Some districts have multiple runs amounting to more. For future reference when come across more stars, you can look up their print runs here: http://mycurrencycollection.com/ref...notes/lookup

I would advise against pressing a note, that includes ironing or pressing it under a book -- That is similar to polishing a coin. Although the book method is probably your safest bet if you feel compelled to "flatten" it. I personally just place notes I find in a plastic currency holder so they are protected.

Good points. I would only keep the first one as well.
