FNB of New Haven, Connecticut was chartered in 1863 as Charter #2; it chose a 19 year charter which meant it would have to liquidate or recharter in 1882. The bank liquidated on May 6, 1882.
It reorganized as Charter #2682 on May 6, 1882. This charter issued 1882 Brownbacks, 1902 Red Seals and 1902 Date Backs.
Sometime in 1909 the government allowed reorganized banks to switch back to their original charter numbers if they desired to.
After reverting to Charter #2 the bank issued DB's, PB's, 1929 type 1's and 1929 type 2's.
The 6th edition of National Bank Notes states that they took the FNB & TC title on July 2, 1928.
