The U of A has graciously given me a week off around Remembrance Day, so we're planning a family road trip from Edmonton out to Saskatoon. Google says that there's two coin stores in the city. Does anyone have any recommendations or relevant experience, or know any good flea markets or any other places where coins may be found in the area? Will there be any club meetings or shows going on? (Is there anything worth stopping for on the Yellowhead? I know there's a good antique store in the tiny town of Lavoy, but I've already been to that one.)

Thanks!

Yes, at the end of the Yellowhead it joins the #1 highway east and straight into Winnipeg.

The two are Sceptre Coins and the other is Hub City Collectibles (ran out of his home or at least used to). The owner of Hub City closed down because of rental increases. I was at Sceptre Coins once and only once. I went there as a new collector and was excited about the hobby. Went to ask a few questions and buy a few things and he promptly told me that we acquire knowledge for selfish reasons, I did an about face and headed out the door. I always tell people to stay away!

Check Kijiji under arts and collectibles and search coins or silver and get in contact with some of the dealers that way. I think there may also be a dealer in NorthBattleford which you will pass on the way.

I don't deal with them much because I do most of my shopping online now.

You could stop by and look at my collection. Don't want to say anything else about it as I don't want to violate any rules.

Hub City Collectables is still in business. He participated in our local stamp and coin club's show this September and has for the past number of years. However, as Squinton indicated he may run his business out of his home...
