I recently rolled some of my remaining Canadian pennies and posted them on a site to sell.
In the past week, I've received quite a few queries of interest from individuals wishing to buy the whole lot or simply a few hundred rolls.
What's the interest here? Have they appreciated that much since the coinage was withdrawn? Are people banking that if they hold on to them for a decade they can sell them in the future?
Now, I'm not sure if I should hold on to them or just sell them off.
Any opinions on what is going on the world of pennies to suddenly draw such interest?

For me it would depend if they are circulated or not, I personally put no additional value on circulated rolls.

Probably the shipping charges will eat up most of the profit.

Actually, this would be a local sale, so a face-to-face sale with no shipping charges. I'm not sure if I should just unload them or hold on to them for a bit.

Sell them, you can go to coin shows find common date rolls for 5.00 or so

they are probably copper hoarders looking to pull out the copper. I've sold a few hundred dollars that way.

Hmmm, sure cash in your pocket now . . . or possibly an unknown amount of more cash at some unknown time in the future. Do ya feel lucky?

I suspect they are banking on the idea that you missed a "good one". Save them for your grand kids. "A bird in the hand" just makes it hard to blow your nose.

I'd sell 'em. I think there's more than enough higher grade examples out there to satisfy demand for the foreseeable future. If you can get a premium on circulated ones then go for it.

What do you think is a reasonable amount to charge for one roll? One dollar a roll? A buck fifty a roll? Five dollars (as per coin show) seems a tad exhorbitant and doubtful anybody would pay that much.
I also don't feel very lucky. For me, they're just taking up space currently. Plus, I have another two banker's boxes to go through before I'm completely done my CRH. I'm probably certain I have missed something. When it starts getting late and your eyes are tired, pennies just end up getting a quick glance rather than a detailed look.

Cookiecutter: When it comes to finding fair market price.. it's always best (and acceptable) to start on the high end and work down... the same can't be said going the other way. Check out what "unsearched" circulated rolls are going for on ebay... start at the higher end of that ball park. As for the blowing the nose comment... love it.. very funny! I should state that I personally have many many MANY rolls of pennies that I haven't even gone through yet. Though I have no intentions of selling only because my plan is to keep them use them with my kids as math manipulatives when they get older... and an art project in years to come. I am not keeping them in the thought that they will increase in value (they won't millions of them were minted and the rate of inflation will eat up any percentage of return that you could get) or that I will be able to use them for copper melt. If however I saw an outlet where I could get 2-5 times the money for my rolls it wouldn't even be a decision they would be out the door in a flash.. cash in hand and on to the next point of interest.

Depending on the years if pennies are copper, the bullion needs to be 5.00 a lbs. for a copper penny to be worth almost 2 cents

These rolls have already been picked through. I sorted them by year so each roll is its own distinct year. I'll probably reserve some as I also want to do an art project (think pennies with epoxy) and sell the rest.

the going rate for pennies in the metro Vancouver area is 2cents each (or $1 a roll) however if you have KGV or KGVI in this lot then you probably can sell them much higher.
