It is never to early to discuss this set, especially since they teased it on the LBJ product page...

Maybe they can make the coins with a Ronnie Ray-gun?

Wow this is pretty early. Who knows when in 2016 the Reagan will even go on sale.

Let's hope the Mint keeps the mintage at 25,000 or less.

They will probably make it 50K and it will linger on sale for a long time. It's the mint, you know they aren't smart enough to make it 25K. It would be nice if they would, but like I said this is the mint we are talking about. I hope I am wrong.

Yeah I think with Reagan's popularity as President it will be at least the 25k of LBJ. Maybe 35k.

the mint should release the set on a random day at a random time, with a limit of one per town.

Quote: Ok, might as well start a thread for the 1916 gold set too while you're at it jbuck Not interested. Quote: Wow this is pretty early. Who knows when in 2016 the Reagan will even go on sale. Probably late summer I am guessing. Quote: the mint should release the set on a random day at a random time, with a limit of one per town. The only reason why I started this thread now was that I noticed the mention on the LBJ order page. I did not want to bring it up and derail the LBJ thread. Okay, I also started it because I wanted to be this topic's OP.

Quote: Wow this is pretty early. Who knows when in 2016 the Reagan will even go on sale. One would think the Mint will offer the Reagan set early in the new year, while there is still a strong interest in Coin & Chronicle sets, but there's no predicting what the U.S. Mint will do.

I think if this set is to be done I think it should have started from George Washington and not this late into the series. Skipping Nixon? What's the rationale behind that?

That would be nice. I certainly think it will affect demand if they wait too long. Quote: Skipping Nixon? What's the rationale behind that? I suspect his scandalous exit from office.

Obviously their rationale does not involve profit. So what if Nixon was an unpopular president? Set a 17,000 mintage on the set and let them sell out in an hour. Sounds like a no brainer to me, but I'm no bureaucrat.
