I am a newbie to coin collecting. I have a few silver dollars from my grandfather and a couple other coins. They've been stashed in a tiny gift bag for years and I just recently got interested enough in them to realize they need proper storage, so I got some mylar flips and a box and am working on that. I also ordered the 2017 red coin book. Can't wait to see how it explains coins. So much to learn. For my own collecting, not something that was just passed on to me, I would like to start with the America The Beautiful National Parks silver proof sets. I am quite in love with the U.S. National Parks, have visited some of them and love the visual and historical part of the ATB coins. Does anyone else collect the silver proof sets of these? They don't seem overly expensive, and because of that, I would be comfortable in asking for some of the earlier year ones as a Christmas, birthday or anniversary gift as a way to gradually collect them all. I liked the proof sets rather than just the uncirculated ATB Quarters. Would love to hear from others who collect these.

There are few here on CCF that like ATB Quarters. I might have a few. I think the silver proof ATB Quarters are some of the most beautiful modern coins being put out.

I like these myself and get three sets each year, one to break out and put in a Dansco date set album, one to stay in the plastic lens and go in an Eagle brand proof set album that displays the lens in a clear plastic page (four lenses per page) so you can see them easily, and one set I leave in the box and pack away in a cabinet.

I collect those as well as the 5 oz pucks. Both series are great looking coins and can be had for just over spot! Definitely have to get the silver ones over the regular proofs.

I too collect the silver proof ATBs and crack them out to put them in a Dansco date set album. I love how they have some information about all the parks in the album as well so it is not only coins but educational stuff in there as well. :D

Love reading all your comments and am happy to hear from others who enjoy these coins, too. Jg, I like the storage idea of putting proof sets in those ring binder pages, which I did not realize existed until you mentioned them. I just looked for them online and that is a great way to keep them assembled. Thanks for that tip.

I have all of the ATB silver proof sets, most of them I have two - one as a standalone set and one in the full silver proof set that contains silver dimes & half dollars as well. They are very good looking coins and only cost $30 to $40 per set. Most of the State Quarter silver proof sets are even cheaper.

I started off Collecting the ATB silver proof sets as well as the 5oz. pucks and ended up going backwards and getting all the State Quarters silver proof sets as well. I keep them all in original packaging, I don't do albums.

I don't collect the ATB silver proof sets per se, but I do collect the annual silver proof sets (which includes the ATB Quarters and a handful of other proof coins). I agree that these are very nice designs for the most part, and look spectacular as a collection.

I started collecting the silver proof parks from the beginning. I also have a couple of the 5oz pucks.
