Another of the infamous 1969S LMC with quite extreme MD in the date and E and R in LIBERTY. Could any of the other photos suggest doubling. The dots in EPU look elongated and is the O in OF also MD?

Unfortunately I only see the MD not anything pointing at doubling. The dots could also have md and circulation can wear then down easily to where you couldn't tell . The picture of the dot is a little blurry but with all the other md I would assume that is what it is too

Thanks Tweak800. Pretty much what I suspected. I got the pictures too small in the upload process and didn't want to go through it again.

Shows the real 1969-S DDO-001 along with photos of different examples of Mechanical Doubling. Once you see the differences in these coins, there are simple to tell apart.

See the MD obverse. The thing that catches my eye on the reverse is a heavy polished die. Something about a raised roof keeps me wondering why (clashes) and looking for more.

Thanks, Doug.

Thanks Halo 1st. I'll get some better shots of the roof. I didn't even see it was floating by itself.

Some close up photos of the roof ends and one in the middle above Lincoln. It is totally floating

That is a nice example of the floating roof.

They did polish the heck out of that. Now that I'm looking harder for that it looks like you can see some polishing on the obverse between lincoln and the 1 .

Just another over polished die. There is nice 1974-D that they almost Abe's nose, lips, mouth and neck:

Thanks all but brings up another question. What is it that they were trying to polish out. Die clash as some suggest but what die clash?

Could have been a die clash or just deep scratches. To know for sure, you would have to ask the guy that polished it.

Seeing how they polished both sides of the OP's coin my guess is a clash.

There is a lot of clashing going on both sides of the roof:
