Does anyone know if the 2015 enhanced uncirculated $1 dollar coin was minted in both A and B positions like regular uncirculated $1 dollar coins, or only in B position, like proofs?

I am sorry I cannot help with this. In fact could you explain what A and B positions are?

It has to do with the direction of the lettering on the coin's edge.

With "heads" up the coin will be A position if the lettering appears upside down, the lettering will be B position if the lettering is right side up.

It seems that most folks don't think this is important, I however think it is worth noting and collecting.

Last year's set (TA9) had both A and B edge lettering and it's safe to assume the same will be the case with this coin - unless, of course, the way the coins are struck has changed.

This years set was struck at West Point and the way that they struck the coin allowed only one position.

This years coin used a collar that imprinted the edge lettering instead of a secondary operation. Look at the rim at 12, 4 and 8 and you'll see a raised ridge where the sections of the collar meet.

Yes, this is crucial. It is the only way to guarantee them all being the same position, just like the proof strikes.

I noticed that and figured they had something to do with the collar. Thanks for the explanation.

Thanks for all the replies.

I ordered 4 and all were in B position so I assumed that was probably true for all.

It's a really handsome coin; it looks like a reverse proof.

I think that they look much better than the reverse proofs.
