Is this some kind of Staple or what is it?
The thing on my coin has two loops over it and then lower there are "teeth" marks indented in the coin at lincoln's shoulder on his coat.
Maybe the "teeth" are another lamination error.

That's a hit from a coin with a reeded edge. Probably from being stored with other change, but it's not an error, it's coin damage.

Not related to the question, but educational nonetheless, the coin is a small date.

You know, that was my first thought, but I was thinking someone would have to use a hammer and hold the coin just right.

honestabe, some people really do fool around with coins just to see what happens. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that someone did actually take a light whack at that coin. Using a coin with a reeded edge and a hammer is a possibilty as well.
