Thats a good answer Tunnioc you're on a roll today. I almst honestly thought I could take it apart like amagicians coin but no such luck. No chocolate or magic for me. I'm at a complete loss how this could happen to a coin

yes edge is intact . sorry its dark I'm in a rush to get to work HAHA  If it where mad the coin wouldnt have a litteral hole in it between the 2 rims. I see whre you say finning bent over because of all the metal bent over but I still cant explain the hole even if there was finning around 3 quarters of the coin it doesn't explain why there is a split in the trench and why there is 2 thick rims that are the same height which wouldn't be thining and wouldnt be mad. Have you ever seen a trench in between rims on a mad coin? Usually it is one think rim. because it wasn't hit by the die. Question. I would like to ask is the reeding put on by the collar in the inital press? I Dont know I might be thinking to much . |

Your last 2 photos are most interesting and especially puzzling. I am just wondering: is the coin diameter and weight within tolerance?

5.7 on my cheapo scale that only does to the thenth so well within mint tolarence and I centered it between two 2015 quarters and its the sam size and thickness. What I don't get , well I don't get it at all right this moment. if here as finning around 3/4 of the rim where is the finning that would cover the hole/tranch? what caused the hole/trench. thos question mainly the what caused it are bothering me . I can't think of anything .
Edit: Just a thought what would the probability be of it being a MAD coin with finning and struck through wire that sat right next to the rim. ? That is my only explination but then that doesn't cover the line in the middle of the trench? Where is Mike on this one?
