ANACS MS63.  In hand, coin is semi-prooflike reverse, non-PL obverse. I think today's TPGs would call it a 64, it has excellent appeal and a solid strike. A bit too much marks for a 65. Toning is a nice coppery red, and it does not overpower the coin. I spent 3 hours trying to nail down the VAM and failed miserably. It's a bizarre coin - it has the heavy granular surfaces and flow of a LDS strike, but the coin is quite obviously EDS, even the VAM-1G-style crack through the wing is barely visible w/o magnification.
