Old white (small) ANACS holder for this 1890-S Morgan dollar (VAM-1G to the best of my knowledge.) A pretty coin with some peripheral toning.

How did ANACS grade her? I do have other pics, if needed, these are the ones I picked from my efforts.

It looks at least MS-63, possibly MS-64.

ANACS MS63.

1890-S-Morgan-Dollar,-You-Vs.-ANACS-Grade-Added

In hand, coin is semi-prooflike reverse, non-PL obverse. I think today's TPGs would call it a 64, it has excellent appeal and a solid strike. A bit too much marks for a 65. Toning is a nice coppery red, and it does not overpower the coin.

I spent 3 hours trying to nail down the VAM and failed miserably. It's a bizarre coin - it has the heavy granular surfaces and flow of a LDS strike, but the coin is quite obviously EDS, even the VAM-1G-style crack through the wing is barely visible w/o magnification.
