I bought the so-called dollar and not the slab...

Days before it being auctioned at a live internet bidding auction house, I noticed that a HK-529 so called dollar (Alaska-Hawaii statehood in sterling silver) was incorrectly labeled in a PCGS holder. The incorrect label has two mistakes: 1) HK-534 misidentification 2) Copper-Nickel misidentification (HK-534 is Nickel-silver, oxidized).

I ran a PCGS cert. verification and it replicated the label. I have an existing specimen already in my collection.

This is the only Alaska-Hawaii statehood so-called dollar graded/encapsulated by PCGS. NGC has 13 in their census. Only 100 specimens were struck in sterling silver.

I'm not sure if the cause of this mistake was due to PCGS inexperience with the series or an outright label error.

Eitherway, the PCGS error label made it appear that it had a mintage of 500 rather than 100 (sterling silver) and I won the auction with a unusually low bid for a Hk-529.

How's the grade? Is the 65 noticeably better than the 62?

Contact customer service and ask them about fixing the mechanical error. There's no magic premium for a slab the wrong label. Other than your ability to cherry pick it because you know what you're looking at, of course. They should fix it for free and even credit you for the shipping charges to your account although sometimes have to ask for that.
