Hey everyone!

In my three years of collecting, I have never submitted a coin for grading. I do have several graded coins, but they were already slabbed when I got them.

Well all of that changed today. I bought an 1877-S Trade dollar from my lcs for my birthday, and they said they would get it graded at no charge to me! (). I do not have any pictures of the coin, but the shop expects it to come back as a VF-25 or a VF-30.

The coin goes to NGC later this week. The expected turnaround time is 3-4 weeks. I will update this thread whenever I hear something new. I am looking forward to this process, but the waiting is really going to be hard.

Let the waiting game begin!

The waiting is very hard ...

If you know them well .. you can ask them, the LCS,
what the slab number is. Then in a few weeks you
can start checking the NGC web site and find out
what the grade will be.

NJ Bob,

I am also hoping for a VF-30 because I paid VF-20 money for it.

Coinfrog, I sent it to NGC.

The waiting sucks. I've had 21 notes sitting since the 1st. I've checked multiple times daily for 19 days hoping to see some sign of movement. At least I can check, you are at the mercy of the dealer updating you. hopefully you get it back soon with a good grade.
