Hi,
I am new over here and have been looking at auctions. I noticed that this seller's coins appear to be uniform in color (I am referring to the bronze coins). All seem pretty nice to my untrained eye as far as deatail and surface condition. I have no idea about value, though.

So, why do all the coins look the same? I think I read that an olive oil soak can turn them dark. Is that it?

Some sellers use filters when photographing their coins. It helps to make surface blemishes less noticeable

This is the way they should look if cleaned properly. Though looking at some of these coins especially the ones that have a pitted surface I suspect that they have been artificially patina.

Some of the coins he sells look good, but I noted a couple look like they have been cleaned with a compass point or something... lots of little scratches all over the surface.

Still I guess not everything can be perfect always...

Has anyone ever bought from him?
