This one is not the 004. The 004 has the wavy steps on the reverse. The wavy steps can be on the left or right side of the areas under the columns.

They need to be strong in order to list them. This one is listed in the Wexler files.
Most are on the left side, but this one is on the right side.
This one is pretty minor, so I didn't send it in to be attributed.
This one I haven't attributed yet.

Here is a new find that was listed on Wavysteps. 1987-D

Some steps lines maybe out of line, others are affected on the left side of the step making the step un-even. But the distortion should occur on the areas below the columns. I'm not seeing that on your coin.
The obverse has a couple of chip issues.
The die is aging. Probably getting to the LDS range.
The thickness on a lot of cents are like yours. Put a roll in a clear tube and you can see this happens a lot.
So I see nothing special about your coin. But when you do find a wavy step, then you will know it. (if you are seeing stuff that is really minor, then your eyes will see a variety coin) People go through, the can't see anything different stage. Then they start to see RPMs. Then they get to seeing stuff that is not there and keep looking. So you have to realize what is collectable and what is MD. Then you find doubled dies. (even these can be too minor) But at least when you are looking to hard and seeing something, when the right coin comes under you glass, then you will know that you have found something. (then you don't even need to ask, but you will brag!)
