Not that it will change the grade (unless you go to Details: Improper cleaning ), but here is the same coin after a bit of conservation. (read getting crud out of the letters)

Cheek/jaw separation, classic VF-20. Light scratch above the date looks like staple damage....almost enough to put it at details.

T-BOP, about 1/2 hour soak in acetone, then about 20 min soak in Verdi-Care. Followed by toothpick dabbed in Verdicare using my computer screen and DSLR as microscope to GENTLY work the crud out of the letters. I have practiced a lot on more common dates. I actually need to reorder from Thad, and will probably get a bigger bottle. I love the stuff!

Considering quite different obverse and reverse, I'll say F-12 overall.

I am at VF. Enough separation of the cheek/jaw. Nice!

Doesn't make it to VF without full wheat lines. This is a split-grade coin.

Coinfrog, please don't take this as argumentative. I post coins for grade so I can be educated. I learn something with each coin. You say that it "Doesn't make it to VF without full wheat lines". Is that a personal rule, or written in some guide? In the ANA book, it has a similar requirement to grade EF, stating "High points of wheat stalks are worn, but each line is clearly defined." For VF20 "Lines in wheat are worn flat and show very few details."
