It's a die crack. The speared bison is a die gouge.
Rest in Peace

It is a hit-in-the-butt with a hail stone bison.

There are a few collectors of Die Cracks, myself included. If a coin generates interest, it is desirable. Yours is similar to the Speared Bison, but it is different. The Speared Bison has a "spear" that goes in the bison from the top and exits at the bottom, pretty much in a straight line. That's pretty interesting, and has value. If I found one like yours, I would keep it. As Die Cracks go, it's not the best, but a lot better than most.

I believe the speared bison variety is only on 2005-D coins.
