Poll Question
Recently I have bought a few lots on the bay. Some have been exquisitely wrapped and other not so.
A couple of packages I have received contained old silver coins (pre 1920's) which were circulated but in decent condition. The seller had taped them directly to a piece of card.
I wondered "should I say something about this?"
The poll is; if you received badly packaged coins but they had not been noticeably damaged would you...

The chances are he did not know or else would have tried to pack them properly.
Feel free to call me Will.

Probably message the seller and telling him that it would be bad to tape up coins like that.

I'm sure it was an honest mistake, made from ignorance rather than malice. I'd message the guy. He'd probably appreciate the tip. No need to mention it on his comments.

I'm with just letting him know not to do it again.

Due to all the wierdo type people that sell on the internet, ebay, probably wasting your time to say anything. I'd just move on and never use that one again.

I usually message the seller directly, and if I get a polite response, done deal. If he's a jerk, then positive feedback, but the comment will mention poor packaging.

I agree, just send him a friendly tip. He probably doesn't know any better.

Sometimes purchases turn into rescue missions. Save the coins from the awful packaging. My response would depend on the extent of the damage.

I had one seller print out a shipping label and just taped the coin in a little 2x2 manilla coin envelope to the back of the label. Came all the way across the states that way.

Acetone them to get the tape residue off.

"Send a note to the seller explaning it is bad form."
It is possible that they just do not know better. Give them the chance to learn.

Damaged by stapler is more permanent than tape.

Agree with JBuck & this is what I've done. However, if the seller doesn't respond to the private message, then I will leave neutral (if there was no damage) feedback or return it.
